Superconductive Components, Inc. Announces Unaudited 2nd Quarter 2000 Results

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- August 28, 2000 -- Superconductive Components, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SCCI) today announced net sales of $703,369 for the three months ended June 30, 2000 compared with $592,738 for the same period in 1999. Unaudited losses for the period were ($30,304), or ($0.02) per share, compared with ($31,352), or ($0.02) per share, for the first quarter of '99. There were 1,399,098 shares outstanding at 6/30/2000.

Dr. Edward R. Funk, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "Our second quarter 2000 shipments continue to show progress over 1999. While we are disappointed with earnings orders for new products grew consistent with our plan for this year. Improvements in our Gross Margin were offset by continued investment in the sales and marketing effort of our Target Materials, Inc. division."

The second quarter of 2000 was marked by continued progress on the company's three federal research grants, and renewed interest it is Levitator™ line of large, oriented superconductive ceramics. Progress was also made toward the re-listing of the company's stock. Financial audits for the years 1998 and 1999 were performed during the second quarter enabling the preparation of filing documents required by the SEC.

Superconductive Components, Inc., headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, manufactures superconductors for wire used in magnets and cables, sensors for biomedical applications, and circuitry for computing, wireless and other applications. Its wholly owned division, Target Materials, Inc., manufactures thin film materials for photovoltaics, flat panel displays, electronic switches, hardness and decorative coatings. The company sells its products in the US and over 40 foreign countries.
