Manganese (Mn)

Manganese is atomic number 25 and is a silvery-grey metal that is very brittle and easy to oxidize. Manganese is typically used as an alloy with steel to help reduce corrosion. This metal has also been used in pigments, dating all the way back to Lascaux Cave in France, where cave paintings were dated back to 17,000 to 12,000 years ago.
