Platinum is an extremely rare metal, occurring at 0.005 ppm in the Earth’s crust. Platinum sees uses in electrochemistry as Platinum Black which is used as electrodes. Many of its properties make it a catalyst especially when materials need hydrogenation. Being a precious metal means that most worldwide uses of the metal go into investment, as well as jewelry and other aesthetic applications.
SCI has the ability to recycle and reuse PGM sputtering targets, which has led to huge savings for our customers. Reach out to us today if you use any PGM materials.
