SCI Engineered Materials has over 25 years of experience manufacturing target and evaporation materials for the Optical Coating Industry. We employ manufacturing methods to produce targets in the geometry that best fits your needs, whether you are looking for a bonded planar ceramic solution, evaporation material, or monolithic metal target.

Optical coatings range in their uses from reducing glare, or filtering light of certain wavelengths. Polarized coatings change the refractive index, or how quickly light travels through a material. All of these techniques can be used together and in interesting ways to tune optical systems, whether that be sunglasses or spectrometers.

We can utilize our in-house capabilities to tailor a custom ceramic or metal target solution to your coating needs. If you are interested in a specific alloy for development, we can work with you to create a custom metal alloy as well. Our Indium bonding capabilities for both planar and Rotatable Target assemblies can accommodate up to 4 meters in length.
