Strontium Titanate (SrTiO3)

Strontium Titanate is a compound oxide of Titanium and Strontium and is a paraelectric material with a perovskite structure. It has a direct bandgap of 3.75eV, and an indirect bandgap of 3.25eV. The cubic structure of this material makes it a good fit, albeit an expensive material for diamond simulation. The high melting point allows this material to lend itself for use in radioisotope thermoelectric generators. Since this material is also conductive, Strontium Titanate has also been studied for use in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs).
