Cadmium Sulfide (CdS) Sputtering Targets
Cadmium Sulfide
Cadmium Sulfide is a yellow solid compound composed of Cadmium and Sulfur, and has two morphologies one being hexagonal, and the other cubic. Both polymorphs of Cadmium Sulfide are piezoelectric and the hexagonal is also pyroelectric. This direct bandgap semiconductor (2.42eV) was at first used for thin-film transistors, but was eventually discovered as a material that could be utilized in thin-film solar.
