Cobalt Iron Born, often known as CoFeB in material science, was one of the first materials to help exhibit the tunnel magnetoresistance phenomena. This material is used in modern hard disk drives a read-heads where its magnetic tunneling ability is utilized. CoFeB has also seen use in Thermal Assisted switching and spin-transfer torque.
